We all depend on financial services throughout our lifetimes, for our businesses, for everything we buy and sell on a daily basis. We have been using money paper, but now it is inevitable the transition to digitized and contactless payments. Ever since the pandemic there has been a rapid switch to digital payments as well as a huge increase in contactless spending.

We are accelerating the inevitable, the trends for digitalisation were already underway and Omise’s services are more needed than ever before.
It is a challenging and exciting job to make it a reliable, secure and scalable infrastructure to support everyone's needs for digital payments. As an industry that will exponentially grow, Omise will be a crucial player in this accelerated growth, to support the next generation of financial services infrastructure empowering all kinds of businesses and demographics.

Why we need you

Omise is already under-going a period of hyper growth and we are expanding our teams to further accelerate it. As well as increasing the number of engineers, we are looking for highly ambitious and result-oriented team members and leaders to join and grow with the team and succeed together. We are determined to create the best environment possible to work in, for both engineers and the customers our products assist.

We are looking for a world class Infrastructure Leader, who will ensure a culture of ownership as well as having a very strong engineering background; The successful candidate should be exceptionally multi-functional in terms of infrastructure skills, team management, cultivating their growth, success, and the best performance..

If you are an individual with the highest attention to details, extreme strength in a scalable environment ,high resilience of infrastructure& information security, and ability to coach the best practices, you will feel this is your place to shine and take Omise to the next level.

What you will be doing

Any leadership role here is about creating fantastic high performance teams and you will have the ownership to decide how best to make this happen. You will need to lead up to a maximum of 10 direct reports. It is your responsibility to have this group of people function at the very highest level. Naturally then recruitment, coaching, provide best practice and methodology which will all fit within your areas of expertise.

As the leader of Infrastructure, you must ensure that we have a resilient, highly available and self healing Infrastructure. The cloud comes with many benefits and leveraging them to ensure components can fail with no real effect to our customers is very important. We understand all things fail eventually; here though when our components fail we must have the required failover and resilience that will mitigate entirely or dramatically reduce any kind of consequence. Capacity management will be a key duty to ensure that we can grow elastically in peak periods. And naturally one of the main benefits of cloud computing is its potential managing expenditure. Whilst we would never trade-off performance nor uptime for the sake of cost we would expect you to be a significant contributor to budget and planning, and to fully own the infrastructure budget. Similar to owning the hardware architecture we would expect you to own the traffic management and create more failover options including global redundancy.

The experience of having built redundancy at platform level is a big plus.
  • Negotiation on capital and operational expenses is something you are very strong at, previously having been able to win some great deals with hardware / platform partners. You are very accustomed to managing a budget and optimizing usage according to traffic volume (current and predicted), including enterprise discount programs and AWS saving plans or reservations.
